Dear Forge City Works Friends & Family,

Wow! What an amazing night last night at our annual Farm to Forge event. The energy in the space was unbelievable and the amount of community support for the work we do at Forge City Works was humbling. I am so proud of our culinary trainees and our entire team – and so deeply thankful for those who are making an investment in our mission. Thank you!

If you were able to be with us last night, you heard and experienced the stories of our trainees – stories of overcoming barriers, stories about people who just need a hand up, not a handout. As I shared last night, we are in the story business here at Forge City Works. Not the business of telling stories – but of helping people create better stories for their lives. And your investment in FCW is an investment in helping people write better stories.

To those who were there and contributed and invested in these stories – thank you! We really could not do what we do without you. Because of you and our community, we raised $98,000 last night between, corporate sponsorships, ticket sales and donations at the event.

To those who missed last night – well, we missed you! But know that you can still make an investment in our work. As we move forward with our new restaurant Fire by Forge, continue to expand the impact of our job training program, and continue to develop a new model for fighting food insecurity through a sliding-scale neighborhood grocery store, we need you to invest in our mission as well.

Last night, I shared with folks about our new “Founder’s Club”. The way it works is that if you make a monthly pledge of $75 or more (or make an equivalent one time gift), you will become a charter member of our Fire by Forge “Founder’s Club”. We will send you a special card in January. This card will entitle you to a 10% discount every time you dine at Fire by Forge, as well as special invites to events and more. This is our way of not just saying thank you, but acknowledging that you are significant partners in our work.

I hope you will consider joining our “Founder’s Club” and helping raise the resources needed to open the new restaurant, expand the impact of our training program, and help fight food insecurity in our city.

On behalf of our trainees, staff, Board of Directors, and fellow community partners – thank you!
