Fire by Forge, a Pan-American inspired, chef-driven, upscale casual restaurant, café, and bar is set to open its doors on Tuesday, April 25th for café breakfast and lunch at 539 Broad St. in Hartford.

Fire by Forge is a social enterprise of Forge City Works and will be fully integrated with their culinary and customer service job training program, providing transitional employment opportunities, internships, and apprenticeships to people over the age of 18 with barriers to employment.

“We are thrilled to welcome guests to Fire by Forge,” said Ben Dubow, Executive Director of Forge City Works. “Our new restaurant represents a significant expansion of our social enterprise businesses, which will allow us to expand the scope and scale of our job training program while still providing great food and atmosphere to our guests.”

The inspiration for the menu and concept is all the rich food cultures of the Americas – North, Central and South America. While a broad palette, these traditions and cultures represent both the backgrounds of many of Forge City Works trainees, as well as those who live in the Frog Hollow neighborhood.

For breakfast and lunch, the front part of the restaurant will function as a café, with counter service and a range of food options similar to what was offered at The Kitchen on Broad, which has now relocated to Fire by Forge. At lunch, both café and table service will be available. Bar service will be available at both lunch and dinner; full dinner service will be served throughout the new restaurant.

The new café hours for breakfast and lunch at Fire by Forge will be from 8 am to 3 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. Dinner service will be starting in a few weeks, with planned dinner schedules from Tuesday to Saturday, from 4:30 pm to close. Plus, brunch will be added in the future, offering even more delicious options to enjoy.
