Thank you to all who joined us for our very first virtual Farm to Forge. Our signature event may have looked different, as does the world around us. But the spirit of community was still alive!
Our job trainees are struggling to find work in a culinary industry that has seen a decrease of 2.5 million jobs, particularly amongst people of color. Our cafes and catering businesses are pivoting to new revenue streams on a daily basis. And SNAP usage increases every week at our Farmers Market. Very scary times indeed.
But what does remain is the resilience, tenacity, courage, and bravery of those whom we work with, our own staff, and the greater Hartford community.
